EIKEN 3 Step 7: Animals & Pets
In this lesson, students will learn how to talk comfortably about animals and pets—one of the most common and approachable topics on the EIKEN Grade 3 test. The lesson begins by introducing essential vocabulary such as popular pets, wild animals, and basic adjectives used to describe them. Students then practice describing an animal’s appearance, habits, and behavior using clear, simple sentences.
Next, students learn common EIKEN-style questions such as “Do you have a pet?”, “What animal do you like?”, and “Why do you like it?” They will practice giving full-sentence answers with reasons, a key skill for both the speaking and writing sections. The lesson also includes short listening and reading tasks that help reinforce comprehension and prepare learners for test-style situations.
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to express personal preferences, give brief explanations, and talk confidently about animals and pets using natural, accurate English.
