English for Beginner Learners (A2) – Step 20: First Conditional: Real Future Situations
In this A2 ESL lesson, students are introduced to the first conditional as a way to talk about real and possible future situations connected to everyday life and simple plans. The lesson focuses on familiar contexts such as daily routines, personal decisions, weather, work, and free-time activities, making the grammar meaningful and easy to relate to.
Students learn and practice the basic structure if + present simple, will + base verb, using clear examples that show cause and result. They explore how one action or situation can lead to a future consequence, helping them express predictions and logical outcomes in natural English.
Through guided reading, controlled practice, and simple speaking activities, learners build confidence using the first conditional to talk about their own lives and plans. By the end of the lesson, students are able to make accurate sentences about real future situations and respond to common “if” questions in everyday conversation.
