EIKEN Grade 2 Lesson 1: Dealing with Problems

In this lesson, students will learn essential English for handling everyday problems, a theme that often appears in EIKEN Grade 2 reading passages, listening tasks, writing questions, and interview tests. The focus is on situations that students may encounter in daily life, such as scheduling issues, unexpected events, misunderstandings, or technical troubles — and on how to discuss these situations clearly and politely in English.

Through guided vocabulary building, grammar practice, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing tasks, students will develop the skills they need to:

• Understand conversations and written texts about common problems and their solutions

• Give advice using appropriate expressions

• Explain what happened and how they responded

• Express opinions and offer suggestions in interview-style and writing tasks
